company debt question by Ann: Is there a good, honest company that I can pay to correct my credit reports?
Years ago I had about 2 years of a credit nightmare. I was young and didn’t know any better. Luckily I was able to pay off all of my debts and now only owe my student loans from college, which are not much.

I know I can contact the credit agencies myself but my credit reports are so overwhelmingly inaccurate and cumbersome. I am not kidding when I say 95% of my credit report is inaccurate. None of the companies notified them when they were paid off or when they were transferred from one company to another so some of my “debts” are even listed multiple times.

When I paid them off it took me forever and my mother’s help just to figure out what I owed and now it gives me a stomach ache to even look at it. I did the hard part – paying it off. Now I just want someone to go in, sort everything out, and dispute the inaccuracies. I am willing to pay a good, honest company but I all I keep hearing about is to be wary of scams.

Does anyone had experience with this sort of thing?

There is no such company. You need to find a good hacker who can take care of that and any other little problems you might have.

Don’t pay anyone to do this.
You can do it on your own.

Each credit reporting agency has a form you can fill out to dispute errors. Go to each website and fill out the appropriate form.
    https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

Keep in mind – Just because you paid something off doesn’t make it automatically drop off your report. It will stay for at least 7 years.

You can protest anything on your credit that is inaccurate yourself. Contact the credit reporting agency and they can send you the paperwork that you need to file. Then the company that was reporting to them has a specified amount of time to reply, if they don’t the credit agency will find in your favor and correct it. You don’t need to hire someone to do this for you.

Even tho you paid them off , they were originally delinquent and all that info stays on for 7 years .

Keep building good reports and in a few more years all the bad still will just fall off .
No company (even legit) can take true items off your report . If they were delinquent , it will show .

The only thing that you can correct is the current payoff amounts IF they are wrong .
If they still show $ $ $ $ owing and you paid , just send in copies of the payoff activity .

But the History of delinquency cannot be erased .

no, there are no such companies.

You can continuously and continuously dispute your credit reports. You need to do it with each credit bureau. You can even do it online. It is not hard to do. Every time they “complete an investigation” they will send you a new copy of your credit report. Just keep disputing them till they are exactly what you want them to read meaning the accounts read paid in full, zero balance, closed by consumer, etc.

Just keep in mind that if you have any late payments, those will more than likely stay on there. Even with disputing, you won’t be able to get rid of those.

But it is not hard to dispute the credit reports. I do mine every single year when I get my credit reports for free. I have the old accounts removed that are over 7 years old and all that. This year I was able to get TONS of stuff removed from both my spouses’s reports and mine as well for old credit cards that were closed and over 7 years old.

So just start disputing and keep doing it till they are the way you want them.

I would suggest The One Stop Credit Shop Dr. Grayson. This guy has an amazing background working with everybody. I have some information on his work that I can forawrd to anyone and also I can introduce you his credit specialist. They are really fast and efficient. And it is 100% legal and removed permanently. They can remove anything for you. I definately suggest dealing with them. Email creditsurgeon@gmail if the support@theonestopcreditshop.com doesnt work.

    Please do this:

Take some time to research this and do it yourself. It’s not that difficult, and you will have the same amount of success as these “credit repair” companies. They charge a lot of money, but can’t possibly live up to what they promise.

I will be happy to walk you through the process.

The problem is you don’t understand the law or how fixing your credit works. In 2003 Congress passed the Fair and Accurate Credit Reporting Act that details exactly what you need to do to fix errors on your reports. If you follow those procedures, your report will be fixed…..or you will have grounds to file lawsuits against those people reporting inaccurate info on your report.

Also, Kris’s advice is not the best. Never file continuous disputes with the credit bureau, or they will consider then “frivolous” and they will ignore every protest you send thereafter. The law does give them that right. I’ve seen many people suggest this here on Yahoo…..don’t do it!

Email me if I can be of help. I am not a lawyer or credit counselor…just someone who likes to get into collection agents faces. I don’t charge anything….you couldn’t possibly afford my rates anyway.
