Write to them and request a settlement; tell what you can afford to pay. You can call them, but it is only binding if it is in writing, so you should at least follow up in writing.

If you owe money you can’t pay back, chances are I or somebody like me has called you. I am a collector. I bought this book because I wanted to see what it had to say. I am impressed. This book reveals the secret to working with someone like me, step-by-step. What is that bottom line secret? Simple – a creditor will negotiate, figuring collecting some money is better than receiving no money. This clearly written, how-to book takes you through the budgeting process you’ll need when you talk to me. It will help you decide if you can pay your debts or not. You will learn five different methods for dealing with your debts. Finally, you learn to rescue yourself from your own debts. And, people like me stop calling when your debts are settled.

Using Sandee Ferman’s book as my guide, I settled my debts of $7,200 to under $1,200. It is such a relief to have this debt handled and out of my life. The book will guide anyone through a responsible handling and management of their debts. It is easy to follow and very thorough.

The book has very helpful information and is written in very understandable language, with the clear purpose to guide someone into making the correct decision for their credit debt situation, and then to give them steps to take in order to make the changes they want to make. I found it very informative and easy to use. There is a lot of information out there on this subject, but this book uses a basic, common sense approach that I haven’t found elsewhere. The author is not trying to convince you to buy her service or product, and in fact, offers additional free tools to use in order to get out of debt and stay that way. I appreciated the honest, helpful approach.
